Unable to get pension money from my ex How do I get it back. Do I sue my solicitor

My solicitor failed to inform his employer that half his pension is paid to me. All money went to him. How do I get my money back.

  1. You say your 'ex', so if that means someone you're divorced from maybe you signed legal documents without looking into it fully and thus got duped by the ex's solicitor into bequeathing the pension money?

    Contact the Law Society for more help, if it was a failing of the solicitor to inform the person that was responsible for administrating information, they'll be on him better for you.


  2. I would recommend contacting your ex's pension scheme administrators and provide them with a copy of the ear-marking or pension sharing order and asking for their advice. They will understand the situation and it may be that your ex will have to return some of the money to the Scheme so that you can get the share that is rightfully yours. If this doesn't work then you will need to seek legal advice as it may be that you will need to take your ex back to court to settle this.
