Question:

Unable to get satellite (XM) reception in house except for 1 room on North. Any ideas for getting signal?

New Delphi Roady XT. Got great signal at the store when purchased.

  1. As mentioned, you really need to get the antenna outside, pointing up.  As an alternative, Delphi sells a "home repeater" that you set up and then can transmit the XM signal throughout your house so you can have your RoadyXT set up anywhere in the house.


  2. Yes , you have to have a great view of the southern sky... It won't really work in doors and the display model may have been hooked to a outside antenna that you didn't see (or instead in a metro area receiving a repeater on a local tower you didn't see).

    It's like Direct tv... you have to have a great view of the sky and sometimes even glass can affect how a radio receives.. but XM is not a true indoor radio like a regular AM/FM radio is

    So your best bet may be investing in a outside antenna somewheres to install on your home close to the southern sky
