Unable to get stimulus check?

my tax preparer told me I couldn't get a stimulus check because of a negative AGI that i had. Could someone please

explain wat the h**l that is? Is this true or have I been duped?

  1. It sounds like you didn't have enough income to be eligible.  You needed income from a job, or net income from self employment, or social security, railroad retirement or some types of VA benefits of $3000 or more to be eligible.


  2. It means you didn't earn enough money to qualify for the rebate. If your adjusted gross income was negative (meaning your income was low, and/or you got a lot of tax credits) then you wouldn't have had any tax obligation. No tax obligation means no stimulus rebate. Sorry.

  3. To receive a stimulus payment you must have at least $3,000 of income from wages, net self employment, Social Security or certain Veteran benefits.  If you had $2,999 in wages and ten million in interest income you don't get a stimulus rebate.  Why?  Because that is the way Congress set up the stimulus program.

  4. How did you get negative income, a loss from self-employment?
