Unable to join game session

Question

hi guys,can you help...while playing call of duty 4 on the ps3,i cant connect to one of my friends on my friends list.when i send a party invite or vice versa all we get is unable to join game session message.yet other friends are fine. im baffled.can you offr any words of wisdom....thanks
