for example I type "cat" in either the yahoo toolbar search or directly on the home page search area, nothing happens, page freezes, I have to use control/alt/delete to get out of that page. Is this a known problem or something I can fix? I have IE 7.0 from yahoo.

  1. FIRST: try this, click on start, then run.

    in the box type "cmd" (without the quotes)

    the command promt should come up.

    type ipconfig /flushdns (note the space between ipconfig and the slash.)

    then press enter.

    see if your browsing is any faster.

    if it's just on yahoo, then you may just not have enough RAM.

    otherwise, I would recommend you doing a virus scan and see what comes up.

    you can try some of these if you'd like:

  2. Clear your "TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES"

    go to: My Computer, Internet Options, under GENERAL tab (delete browsing history).

    ==delete all==
