Unaccompanied to participate in the Kerry Group Noblesse Stakes at Cork
D.K. Weld’s, Unaccompanied, delivered an exceptional performance in the Navanracecourse.IE Race at Navan on 29th April, 2012, where she used the 9-10 chance to her advantage, and scored a victory over the Kevin Prendergast trained,
Rising Wind, by 1 ¾ lengths.
The daughter of Danehill Dancer, out of mare Legend Has It, raised her esteem among her connections with this victory, but could not repeat in her most recent start.
The five-year-old mare finished as a runner-up in the Vintage Crop Stakes at the same track on 20th May, 2012, where she lost the victory by a marginal difference of a neck to race favourite, Fame And Glory.
Despite her finish as a runner-up, her performance was commendable, and she responded well to jockey, P J Smullen. It seemed her luck ran out in the final stages of the race because it was a brilliant effort.
Stan Cosgrove, who is the racing manager for her owners Moyglare Stud commented on her performance and said:
"It was a terrific run and we were delighted with her,"
He further added : "She's a very good mare over hurdles and on the Flat and all going well she'll go for the Noblesse Stakes at Cork next.
"She won't be going to Royal Ascot."
The Moyglare Stud Farm owned mare shows immense promise, and since her past two performances went so well, things are looking up for her.
It seems that she will be taken to Cork to compete in the Kerry Group Noblesse Stakes - a mega-event which is scheduled to take place on 17th June, 2012, where her stamina will be tested over 1 mile and 4 furlongs.
Over the course of her career, the bay mare has competed in fifteen starts, and scored in more than half since her victory in April was the eighth win of her career.
On 29th December, 2011, Unaccompanied downed a majestic Grade 1 victory when she competed in the Istabraq Festival Hurdle at Leopardstown.
With her incredible pace, she left the competition far behind as she conquered the two mile track and defeated the evening’s favourite, Thousand Stars, by 1 ½ lengths.
