Yegor Titov has shared his thoughts about the upcoming Russian Premier League meeting between Spartak and Lokomotiv Moscow at Luzhniki stadium
Former FC Khimki midfielder, Yegor Titov, has responded to the news linking Unai Emery to replace Valery Karpin at Luzhniki stadium.
Titov conceded that Karpin needs to leave the Russian outfit, having failed to win a trophy during his stay at the Moscow-based club.
Media reports suggest that Karpin, who joined the Myaso after replacing Michael Laudrup back in 2009, is set to resign after a series of disappointing Russian Premier League results coupled with their shocking Russian Cup exit.
Consequently, the Russian outfit is pondering over a move for Emery, who has recently resigned from the post of head coach at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 following a dispute with the Spanish outfit’s management.
Titov has backed Emery, by admitting that the Spanish tactician is the right man for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Moscow.
Spartak Moscow will take on Lokomotiv Moscow on Sunday at Luzhniki stadium. The last time these two teams faced each other, Emmanuel Emenike’s brace secured all three points for the Moscow-based club.
The former Spartak player concluded that the upcoming derby will turn out to be an interesting game for the players and the fans. He admitted that both teams will try to fight until the last minute of the match in order to improve
their standings in the league table.
The Moscow-based club will play the upcoming match on the back of a 3-2 win against Zenit St. Petersburg at Petrovsky stadium. Titov revealed that Spartak played quality football against the table-toppers and heaped praise on Artem
Dzyuba.
Titov concluded that Dzyuba proved to the world that Karpin did the right thing to give him the captain’s armband earlier this week.
As things stand, Spartak are at the 3rd spot in the league table and are fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot. Lokomotiv, on the other hand, are at the 6th spot and may claim a UEFA Europa League spot, should they
win the upcoming home game against Spartak.
