Evgeny Lovchev has warned the former Valencia manager to watch out for his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 despite winning the UEFA Champions League tie against the Primeira Liga club
In the latest round of UEFA Champions League action, Spartak Moscow won 2-1 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542 at Luzhniki stadium on Tuesday.
The Moscow-based club recorded their first win in the cup competition after losing their first two group stage matches against Spanish giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 and Scottish side, Celtic CF respectively.
Famous football expert, Evgeny Lovchev, has shared his impressions of the European match, insisting that he is happy with the Russian Premier League club’s terrific performance against the Portuguese club at home.
Lovchev credited Unai Emery for the team’s first win in the tournament, saying that the Spanish tactician is making right decisions and conclusions after a series of disappointing results in the league and Europe respectively.
Emery, who joined Spartak from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 after replacing Valery Karpin during this summer, has been widely criticized for the Red-Whites' poor defensive display in the Champions League after his team conceded six goals in their
opening two European matches.
Lovchev revealed that Emery has now proved his critics wrong after winning a European match.
“Emery made right tactical decisions in this match. Spartak concentrated to build their game right from the centre of the field. They controlled the game well in the second-half after an early goal. Emery should now start thinking
about physical fitness of the team if he plans to continue working at Moscow. I think Emery has shown that he can make effective tactical moves.”
“Spartak might end up in the Europa League if they fail to win next matches.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Lovchev went on to admit that the Moscow-based club will find it difficult to win against the same opposition when they travel to Portugal for the return leg next month.
The former Dynamo Moscow player warned the Myaso against complacency, telling them they should forget about progressing to the later stages of the tournament if they fail to win the remaining group stage matches.
