Unbeaten filly Best Terms to increase her prefect record in the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket
The 2-year-old unbeaten bay filly, Best Terms is pointed towards the Group 1 Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes entirely for fillies at Newmarket on 24 September, 2011, over a distance of six furlongs.
The daughter of Exceed and Excel, out of Sharp Terms by Kris, is coming off a 2 length victory in the Group 2 Jaguar Cars Lowther Stakes for fillies at York on 18 August, 2011.
Over a distance of 6 furlong on a ground labeled good to soft, Richard Hughes guided the young filly for trainer Richard Hannon. Best Terms was sent at 11 to 1 second choice favourite to win the race, and she did not disappoint the punters.
The pair made all, as they kept going strong till the final furlong, kept on gamely and fended off opponents real early before the wire, beating the closest rival Fire Lily by 2 lengths.
Hello Glory and Caledonia Lady finishes 3rd and 4th respectively in the 11 horse field.
Prior to the York win, the 2-year-old was largely recognized because of her win in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal Ascot on 15 June, 2011.
The Richard Hannon trained filly was contesting over a distance of five furlongs in a 14 horse field. She was sent at 12 to 1.
Under Richard Hughes, the pair chased leaders to begin with, they stayed on well but they kept on going strong when they witched right well over 1 furlong to go.
Best Terms led inside the final furlong and pressed but kept going under pressure and held on well till the finish.
Shumoos and Caledonia Lady filled in the 2nd and 3rd and Fire Lily couldn’t finish in the top money in the 14 horse field.
