Unbelievable. Can't money be spent in a more efficient manner?

I just read that a Swedish university was given a $590,000 grant to study the amount of greenhouse gases emited when cows belch. I wonder what the results would be? I know, we can give cows massive amounts of Beano in their feed and eliminate the melting of the polar ice caps. Give me a break! I

  1. Yeah, isn't it silly. Almost as silly as paying $200 for that really cute purse!

  2. Sounds like somebody's got a grad student who's really good at writing up research proposals! :)

However, you can take comfort in the fact that this particular "research" carries its own punishment--the researchers are going to have to "take measurements" to get the data for their study. . . . . :) LOL

  3. Sorry but more human beings (not all of them vegeterians) means more cattle farming and in turn a different CO2/Methane balance in the atmoshphere.

Livestock and manure contribute to 5% to the increase in greenhouse gases contribution to the atmosphere.

  4. doesn't sound surprising at all...the government spending tax dollars on stupid stuff....sounds perfectly normal to me.

besides, why would "they" worry about whats happening to our planet? "they" already destroyed it and raped it...and "they" already raped the moon, now "they" want to rape mars and mercury for resources.

    thats "the government" for you

  5. And it's a sure money bet that at the end of the study, the conclusion will be that cows do indeed emit massive amounts of green house gases and further study (with an even larger grant of course)is necessary to quantify the problem and to develop a solution for the crisis.

  6. wow that does sound like a lot of money.. they may have done just to give students a case study. so they can learn the skill they would need for and actual test they might do if had a job a job in that field... if not... lets not tell them that plants also real ease methane gas. ( i just found that out but i lost the article google it)

  7. Isn't agenda driven science great.

How about a study on how efficiently the UN spends our money?
