Uncertainty around Villarreal’s Giuseppe Rossi – La Liga Debate
Villarreal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giuseppe-Rossi-c15027 enjoyed a prolific season in the previous La Liga campaign. The Yellow Submarine striker netted 32 goals and has been in demand ever since. Clubs across Europe have shown their interest but nothing has come of
it so far. With pre-season training in full-swing, current boss Juan Carlos Garrido wants his future to be decided.
Reigning European champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 instead. Sanchez will be deployed
on the left side of the attacking three at Camp Nou. ‘Rossi to Barca’ is dead and dusted.
The diminutive forward would have liked to be a part of the acclaimed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero. However,
Los Rojiblancos decided sp splash a mighty 40 million on mercurial http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 instead.
English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspurs, want to add Rossi to their attacking ranks. The club’s forwards were anonymous throughout the 2010/11 season, with only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 scoring goals in double figures. The Russian has been out of favour
at the North London club, but managed ample playing time with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 misfiring. Manager Harry Redknapp will have to offload two of his current strikers before moving for Rossi. The trio is unwilling to leave and this
is causing the delay in the Spurs move for the New Jersey-born player.
As much as Tottenham would like to get hold of the 24-year-old, they will have to bid their time making space in their roster. Juventus had shown strong interest in the attacker and many had called him the perfect addition to the Bianconeri ranks. However,
the move fell through as Juve didn’t have the buck to lure away the Azzurri forward.
Back home at Villarreal, the club seem eager to hold on to the attacker. Their financial woes have been cured following the 21 million Euro sale of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505 to cash-rich Malaga. With the club participating in the UEFA Champions League, the Yellow Submarine
will want their stars firing on all cylinders, and Rossi is their most potent weapon. Offloading the talisman in attack, with just a few days left in the transfer market, would be unwise.
Rossi would happily stay back in Vila real for there is Champions League to look forward to. And better yet still, he is adored by one and all in the city. Age is still on his side and a move to a major European heavyweight would be on the cards come the
summer of 2012. For now, Rossi seems likely to stay in La Liga, donning the yellow jersey of Villarreal, and he shouldn’t have any regrets.
