Uncertainty persists as Baltimore Ravens yet to confirm safety Ed Reed for training camp – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens have to officially confirm participation of safety, Ed Reed, as the player has been making headlines on both sides of the question if he is going to make himself available to the squad at training camp, which is due
to start later this month.
Reed has been very quiet until recently when he lashed out at media over picking his some tweets to garner news while leaving out others, questioning their editorial policy.
He is yet to answer whether he has already decided to announce retirement from the professional league. This was the main part of discussions a couple of months ago, while the player has neither denied nor accepted the validity of those
reports.
It is still a persistent question, to be answered by the team or the player himself. The Ravens themselves do not have a firm word from the player if and when he is going to return to the team.
Coach, John Harbaugh, had earlier sounded to be hundred percent that Reed will join them in training camp. Again, the safety has kept a mum on the statement and this is still a lingering question.
It addition to Reed’s absence, Ravens are facing some difficulties to attract Ray Rice to training camp. He is on a holdout over his pressing long-term deal demand. He has sat out the three-day mandatory minicamp and is most likely to
skip the training camp if not given new contract until then.
Another player in a similar uncertain situation is quarterback, Joe Flacco. Joe, however, has now rested the matter to the management for consideration, saying he cannot control the entire situation himself.
Unlike these two cases, Reed is completely silent over his choice matter. Apart from the rumours of his retirement plans, he has neither a matter of a long-term deal demand in pending nor any other possible issue.
Ravens are opening their training camp on July 27 and have asked the players to report to the camp at least a couple of days before the opening date.
