Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception made for 3D, Duke Nukem Forever voice actor hints at DLC
With the Electronic Entertainment Expo just a matter of days away, developers are doing what they can to build up some hype for their respective games. One such studio, Mick Hocking, Sony Worldwide Studios’ 3D team lead, has heaped praise on the way Uncharted
3: Drake’s Deception runs in 3D.
"The style of game itself suits 3D very well, and the attention to detail that Naughty Dog have delivered in their 3D solution has really impressed me," said Hocking.
Naught Dog, the game’s developer, set the bench mark for both graphics and gameplay with their previous title, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and seem to be raising it again for its sequel.
Hocking also expected UC3 to get more people to go out and buy a 3D Television set after seeing what the game was capable of delivering in terms of how it harnesses the potential of the technology.
"Naughty Dog are obviously one of the world's top developers," Hocking continued, "and what they’ve done with Uncharted 3 in 3D will really convince people of our full-screen HD 3D solution."
The hype surrounding UC3 has reached its highest point yet as Naughty Dog continues to release information and game details at regular intervals ranging from teaser trailers to ‘tech’ demos as well as an entire list of multiplayer details.
Uncharted 3 has been confirmed to be presented at Sony’s E3 press conference with its developers promising to deliver ‘something special’ for all those who will be watching. Naughty Dog already wowed audiences with their ‘burning villa’ level demo and if
that is anything to go by then everyone is in for a treat come the 6th of June.
However, gamers will have to wait until the 1st of November before they can get their hands on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception when the title will be facing competition from heavyweights such as Modern Warfare 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
Meanwhile Jon St. John, the voice actor who plays Duke Nukem Forever’s protagonist, let slip details of a Downloadable Content pack that is set to be released after the game’s release.
"Even though the game is still finished, of course there will be special add-on packs and features including... I don't know if I am allowed to talk about this or not... something that may involve singing. I'll leave it at that," he said.
The statement seems to suggest the DLC may contain a few mini-games, however, one can only speculate on what to expect from the game developers.
Duke Nukem Forever is scheduled for an eagerly awaited 14th June release across the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
