Naughty Dog has announced a new DLC pack for Drake’s Deception and it will see the introduction of an all new multiplayer mode for gamers to enjoy.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is as good as follow ups can be if one takes a look at just how critically acclaimed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was.
The developer, Naughty Dog, admitted that the leap between the second and third games was not as great as compared to the first and second but that was because the studio was almost at the limit of what the PlayStation 3 console was capable of.
Yet, while the multiplayer in the second game was surprisingly very good, the multiplayer component in Drake’s Deception was deeper, more engaging and had enough in it for gamers to buy the game for just that particular component itself.
However, Naughty Dog is hoping to get people to continue playing the game as they add a new multiplayer mode into the mix to keep things fresh.
One of the developers pointed out that this time around the focus would be on fighting off the Djinn in the latter rounds of the survival mode.
He said, “There are eight rounds in total. The Djinn’s ability to catch fire and teleport poses a formidable challenge to team strategy and coordination.” Before continuing, “Later rounds include highly skilled Djinn sporting extra armour and firepower so get ready for a hearty battle.”
It won’t just be a straightforward survival mode though as there would be a number of objectives that players would also be required to complete. One example given was, “The Marked Man round objectives makes its first appearance in an Arena setting as a certain Djinn will be marked and then heavily protected by other Djinn bodyguards during the match.”
The DLC pack is scheduled for release on the 13th of March and will be priced at a reasonable $5.99 on the PlayStation Store.
If nothing else the ‘Shadow Survival Mode’ sounds like a perfect excuse to put Drake’s Deception back into the console and spend a few more hours looking at one of the most beautiful multiplayer games out there.
