The United Kingdom has been taken by storm as the PlayStation Vita was released last week and the software sales charts reflect that trend.
The PlayStation Vita has invaded all the European territories and while Sony may have been pleased by the turnout at the stores for its midnight launch, they will be more concerned with the sales figures of the console in the region.
Those figures have not been released as yet but if the software sales chart is anything to go by then Sony will surely be smiling.
Starting things off with the 10th place in the charts and Final Fantasy XII-2 manages to keep itself where it counts though one has to wonder if the game will still be there next week.
EA’s Battlefield 3 also drops down to number nine while its closest competitor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, barely manages to do one better as it finishes in eight spot.
EA’s second title in the charts is the return to a once forgotten series as Syndicate is hoping to make the most of its release period hype, though it seems to be on the downward slide early on as it slips to seventh place.
Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games is the last game in the charts before we get into the top five, where Rayman Origins is the first of many PlayStation Vita games to make a mark.
FIFA 12 comes in at fourth while UFC Undisputed 3, which topped the chart last week, slips down to third spot.
That means that the top two best selling games of the week were Vita titles as FIFA Football, the first definitive football simulation title on the portable gaming device, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss take the runners-up and first place respectively.
Uncharted has been praised for demonstrating that the Vita can handle a variety of genres ranging from action/adventure to shooters and while it may not have been developed by Naughty Dog, it still manages to retain the charm and immersion of the PlayStation
3 series.
It will be interesting to see whether or not the games will be able to retain the top two spots next week or not.
