Question:

Uncomfortable Contacts?

I just got contacts for the first time yesterday. I am pretty good and taking them out and I can also put them in without too much trouble, it's just that when they are in there it, it feels uncomfortable at both corners of my eyes (the corner near the nose). I try moving them around a lot and I take them out and put them back in again but it still does not help. It may be that I am putting them in wrong. I try to put them directly on the pupil and then I do what my eye doctor told me to do when I put them in... Once they are in I look down and then let go of the bottom lid of my eye and then the top. I feel the uncomfortablityness (that a word? o.o) almost right away. Any advice?

  1. They might not be fitted properly, or they might be in back wards, change them around.  Also, use wetting drops and drink some water...I usually look up, put them in then look forward.  It cause also be the solution u are using, don't use the cheap stuff.  It takes a while for your eyes to get use to them, so them in your eyes for alittle while....don't forget to rinse them first, good luck!

  2. make sure there not backwards

and when you put them in make sure you dont flinch your eyes, if that makes sense.

that happened to me, but i got better at it and it stopped.

  3. hey i just got contacts for the first time yesterday too!

They feel kinda weird..but apparently that goes away.

    lol

oh and instead of "uncomfortablityness" it should have been "discomfort".

i'm sure you knew that but just couldn't think of the word! lol

  4. Are you sure that you are not putting them in backwards?

Did you inspect them to be sure that there is nothing on them?

Is there any redness in your eyes?

You might trying calling your doctor for advice.  Maybe stick with classes until then.

You could do a search for advice.  Here is one.  The manufacturer of the lenses probably has a site with advice too.

  5. Sometimes if it is uncomfortable you might of put them in inside out and this will make it uncomfortable. If you just started to wear them you have to get use to them. When I first started wearing them my eyes felt funny too so give it a little while to get use to them.
