I have my road test tomorrow and my friend who took it at the same place told me there were uncontrolled intersections.

What are the specific rules to uncontrolled intersections?

*She failed because she didn't know

  1. As per the rules of the road you are to treat it the same as a 4-way stop and follow the same rules.

  2. treat them as 4 way stops

  3. Don't you have a rule book?  Uncontrolled intersections use the right of way rule..  yield and be prepared to stop.  Look left, look right and proceed without stopping if safe to do so.

  4. Yes, oops!

This is when you are approaching an intersection with no signs. It could be two way, three way, or four way.

When a driver approaches an "uncontrolled" intersection, he/she should slow down as if there was a "YIELD" sign, cover your brake until you know it is clear, give the right of way to whomever is TAKING it, or the driver coming from the right. The driver on the right, legally has the right of way, but only if it is given to them. That is why you should slow down, cover your brake and scan WELL before entering this intersection. It isn't necessary to stop unless a vehicle is coming and not slowing down to possibly give YOU the right of way.

I hope that helps........and focus on the instructions from the Examiner! It'll be over in no time! (20 min. of driving)

  5. In most  states they are to be treated as a 4 way stop. Good luck.
