Undefeated Atlanta Hawks take on Minnesota Timberwolves
The Hawks seem to be all set to remain the Eastern Conference's only team without a loss on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Target Center, Minneapolis when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are coming off their worst defeat in franchise history.
Brief overview of Hawks
Atlanta Hawks have had a remarkable performance this season. It is one of three undefeated teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA), joining the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans.
The point of concern for Hawks is that they will be playing their next game in the absence of a few of their prominent players. Starter Marvin Williams left the game on Wednesday after landing hard on his right knee. Mo Evans had missed his fourth consecutive
game due to a knee ache. Pape Sy will not be visible in the game due to a back injury.
The possible return of Jamal Crawford on Friday is none other than a ray of hope for the Hawks. Crawford is Atlanta's top player off the bench, averaging 15.8 points. He was left out on Wednesday with a toe injury.
Joe Marcus Johnson will have to be daring enough to take responsibilities and to act as the strength of Hawks. He seems to be in full form as he said, "I just haven't really been able to get into a rhythm. I know it will come, I'm not really worried about
that".
He had averaged 23.0 points in the first three games, but he has scored a combined 29 in the last two games, while shooting 30.6 percent. Johnson will try to bounce back as he faces a Minnesota team he has averaged 22.8 points against in his last six meetings.
Depth concerns for the Hawks might not be an issue against Minnesota, who have lost their last three by an average of 31.3 points.
Brief overview of Minnesota
After a tough time against Orlando Magic in Orlando on Wednesday, Minnesota might be entering the basketball court without Michael Beasley as he is still questionable for the team yet. He had averaged 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds over the previous four games.
He sat out of the game with a sore left hip after he took a hard fall against the Heat.
Minnesota’s Coach, Kurt Rambis showed his deep concern towards the team, “They didn't play well offensively and do the right things, and we clearly didn't do the right things defensively either".
Timberwolves do have very strong rebounding and can take the game away.
Hawks eye victory
The Atlanta Hawks are solid and hot favourites as they are 57.3 percent favourites over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Hawks shooting from the field is awesome, with 46.5 percent and the Timberwolves are expected to shoot at 44.5 percent.
The Timberwolves have the rebounding advantage at 45.2 to 41.9. The turnovers with Hawks are not impressive as it has been predicted to be 13.7, while on the other hand it’s almost the same situation with Timberwolves, as their Turnover is 14.
Timberwolves are lagging behind the Hawks with their three pointers. The Hawks are making 6.9 three pointers of 38.1 percent from three point range. The Timberwolves are making 5.1 three pointers from 32.7 percent.
Again, it is only the statistical data. The actual tussle will take place very soon on the basketball court in Target Center. The one, who will play the game with coordination and teamwork, will head the game.
In conclusion, we would like to wish best of luck to both of the competitors, Timberwolves and Hawks.
 Cheers.
