Azhar, 27, started his career as a right-arm leg-spinner, but developed his batting skills with the passage of time, eventually becoming one of the country’s leading batsmen.
Gul revealed that the right-hander used to work hard on his batting even in the early days, although he was primarily a bowler.
"Azhar was a very keen batsman even then but ICC U19 CWC actually provided him that platform and opportunity where he evaluated and reworked on his strengths and is now one of the stars of international cricket," the fast bowler said.
The cricketer from Lahore performed out of his skin in the recently concluded tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208 and Umar Akmal are considered to be the
future of Pakistan cricket.

Gul, who is the spearhead of Pakistan’s bowling attack, thinks that the tournament provides talented players a great chance to display their skills and impress the authorities.
He mentioned, "The ICC U19 CWC provides you a launching pad and also gives you a chance to test yourself against the best players from all over the world in that age group. It gives you a very good idea which level of cricket you belong to and what you need
to do to survive or excel at the highest level."
