Under 21's driving 4 wheel drive!?

i was sitting behind the wheel of my mums turbo vauxhall frontera tonight, i have driving experiance and feel very confident in, say and audi a4/ mondeo size car. i realised that i did not feel safe driving a car of its power and size with the experiance i have had driving. is this the answer to less accidents, making young people drive smaller cars, i certainly wont be purchasing a range rover any time soon!!!!!!!!! what are your views,?

I am up for anything to help reduce the accident rate with younger people but big or small cars is only the start, the main thing is that everyone needs to understand and follow the rules of the road then we would have less accidents.

I wish the problem could be solved with something as simple as controling the size of the car you purchase based on driving experience. The truth of the problem, however is much larger than that. There are lots of people out there who either have no idea how to operate a vehicle safely or simply do not care to. I can't tell you how many bad habits I see on the road every single day.

  You see, the issue is not that our young are driving vehicles which are too big for them to handle. The real problem is that our young are learning to drive from parents who themselves have no clue how to operate a vehicle safely. And so bad habits are passed down and learned through generations and those of us who understand and practice safe driving habits become less and less. I remember a day when watching the "maniac" cutting wildly across lanes was a rarity only seen far and in between. Now a days, this is common practice and it is YOU who are considered the "slow poke" if you actually take the extra second to look before changing lanes.

  We have a major crisis in our hands. Safe driving habits have all but gone out the window and I don't have a real answer as to how we fix this!
