  1. leave it on.that way there is always a worm place for it to worm itself.

  2. you leave it on all the time. it shoudl never have to be turned off unless for some reason it gets too hot. small ones at petsmart or petco run at about $10-$15

  3. i personally don't use a UTH on my ball pythons.  i just use the heat lamp during the day and turn it off at night.  also a 5 gallon tank is too small for a baby ball.  your snake will out grow it quickly.  it's best to start with a 29 gallon long tank.

  4. yes

  5. You should leave it on all day and night so the snake has somewhere warm to go. You'll also need a thermostat or rheostat to control the temp so it doesn't get too hot. You can get a UTH for around $15 at petsmart and petco (Cheaper online) and rheostats or thermostat for another $15-$30.

  6. Why spend your money i used a plain old heating pad and put it under the tank on high it was perfectly fine  for my red tailed and I left it on all the time however when   the temp outside climbed I shut it down to medium. Some of this stuff I am sorry to say is consumerism at its finest .I had a very good mentor that knew how crazy I was about my snakes and he also knew i wasnt a millionaire
