http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665 in the crunch game. Chasing a middling 140 to earn a spot in the tournament final, Pakistan fell short by 16 runs.
While speaking to media reporters on his return home from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, Razzaq blamed Hafeez for his exclusion from the team in the semi-final and claimed that he could have been a match winner had the skipper not dropped him.
The media outburst prompted PCB to issue the pace-bowling all-rounder a show cause notice, seeking an explanation over his contentious remarks against Hafeez.
While Razzaq is yet to submit his reply, Moin Khan stepped forward in his support saying the all-rounder made contentious remarks as he was upset at not being picked.
"Perhaps what Razzaq said about Hafeez was not appropriate but I think he was frustrated and upset at not being picked for the semi-final and there is no doubt it was injustice not to play him in such a big match," Moin told media reporters on Saturday.
"I think the Board needs to take a lenient view of the incident as a senior player like Razzaq is more frustrated when he sits on the sidelines in a big match knowing he can do a lot for his team," he added further.
The former wicketkeeper batsman also criticized national T20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez for overlooking the experienced all-rounder for the summit clash. Khan also questioned head coach Dave Whatmore’s role and contribution.
"Tell me, what improvement has the team made since Whatmore took over nearly six months back. He needs to be questioned," said the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 skipper, who played 69 Tests and 219 One Day Internationals for the country between 1990 and 2004.
