Since I'll be starting my second year of high school football, I just wanted ask something uniform wise. Since I live in New England and it gets quite cold around here during HS football season, I am planning to wear my briefs, under armour blue compression long shorts, under armour leggings, my pads, obviously my football pants over that and then a pair of under armour black knee socks. Somebody told me this was way too much compression and tight clothing plus it would be pretty bulky. What do you guys think?

  1. yea thats too much. its too bulky and will slow u down.

  2. Believe it or not, our High School Coach told us to wear a pair of  nylon hose over our jock etc., and it did help us to stay warm. This was on very cold evenings we had a football game.

  3. If your talking from a health perspective, I think you'll just have to try it out and see.  As long as you're comfortable and you're not cutting off the circulation, it should be ok.

  4. I started to answer this question, then decided since I never played football and could only picture soccer players in thin nylon shirts and shorts in freezing rain, I should consult an expert, so this is what my friend has to say:

"It's definitely overkill, one layer of a whisk away (moisture) will be plenty. They have so much improved the new materials, unlike what we had 50 years ago. 50 years oh my god,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"
