Since the beginning of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign, things have not looked up neither for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 nor new signing Alou Diarra.
For two years, Deschamps had to wait to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international.
However, this summer’s move to Marseille has turned out to be a bad decision for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130.
Throughout the first half, the midfielder wandered aimlessly and was all over the place. So poor was his performance that Didier Deschamps had no choice but to replace him for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 at half time.
Since then, Diarra has had a hard time in returning to full-form. Two months into his first season at Marseille, the 30-year-old has become a scapegoat for Marseille’s failures in the league. So much has his unpopularity risen that every time he has the
ball between his feet, Marseille faithful never hesitate hissing at him.
However, the troubled midfielder has now come out in the open and while talking on Marseille’s official website, Diarra explained the reasons behind his initial failure at the club.
“Personally, my physical condition isn’t optimal. I have a weakness in the back. I always neglected it but now I’ve started a program to strengthen the back in order to let go of these physical issues,” the 30-year-old midfielder said.
Alou Diarra also said that he is not worried about what the supporters feel about him and is willing to concentrate on the game rather than getting carried away by the crowd’s reaction. Diarra pointed out that the fans have no idea about his injury and they
expect him to give 100% everytime.
Justifying his poor showing, the Frenchman has promised a better tomorrow for himself and for the club.
