  1. Tips in Ecuador.......normally im restaurants they charge 12% over for service and 10% for local TAX.  Normally if it is in the morning I don´t tip or I eat in a cort yard in a shopping mall.

cabs...usually I dont tip them and be sure that they put the "taximetro" in Quito (it works in Quito because Guayaquil is totally different).

If you take a cab in the airport maybe there they dont put a taximetro, anyway ask before you take the cab.

  2. i recomend to you to  visit this link,

    www.vivecuador.com

Tourist guides, porters, waiters and other people related to the tourist industry will expect a tip from you, but taxi drivers wont.

  3. When someone needs advice?

  4. It is common to give a tip when you eat in restaurants, but not as much of a tip as you are used to giving.  I always give a small tip to the guy who carries my groceries out to the car and also the security guard outside my house when he helps me carry the groceries inside.  When you stay in a hotel it is also normal to give the guy that brings your luggage to the room a tip also.  It is not common to give taxi drivers a tip though.  Whenever someone helps you move something or load it in your car for you whenever you buy something is the most common time to give a tip.
