  1. Well, we'll unlikely get a sea breeze if the land is cooler than the sea.  When this happens, air will move from the land where pressure is higher to the sea where it is lower, creating a land breeze instead of a sea breeze.

  2. If the prevailing wind is from land to sea and it is very strong so as to suppress the sea breeze, you may not get sea breeze. Moreover,if there is rain during the day time over the coastal sation so that there is not much temperature between the land and sea surfaces, then also you may not get sea breeze.

  3. A sea breeze is most likely to happen after noon, when the sun has been heating land. If you see some small cumulus clouds appearing over land but not sea, then the sea breeze effect is in place. As it continues and if there is enough heat on the ground, moisture in the air and colder air on the top of the troposhere, this process may continue until cumulonimbus form, bringing rain over land and even the possibility of thunderstorm.

As said by someone else, this happens when the land gets warmer than the sea. Because the sea gets a long time to warm up, it is more likely to happen during spring and early summer than autumn.

Sea breezes are associated with high pressures and little wind. The wind you'll experience during a sea breeze is not extending much more than a few miles over sea and over land.

If a sea breeze happens during day time, it is most likely to reverse during the night when the sea is then warmer than land and the wind blows offshore.

  4. we will experience sea breeze when the wind direction is from shore to sea..
