Under what situations can a signed contract be broken?

If both parties agree.  If the contract is for an illegal purpose.  If it is an ironclad contract.

if either of the party are under the age of 18.

By law no one under this age can sign a legal paper.

Other than that, both party would have to brake a contract..

any breach of the terms of the contract by either party breaks the contract

When the provisions of the contract are unlawful or illegal, one of the parties can have it vacated.

When both parties agree to vacate the contract.

When one of the signature parties turns out to be a minor.
