Ive had a blood test and ive been told my thyroid result slightly lower than usual range which is apparently between 12-21. Mine is 11.9. Has anyone experienced this - do you think this result would give me symptoms?

  1. When I first had mine checked it was 9. I felt so incredibly awful that I knew something was wrong. The "normal" range is between 0.3 and 3.0. Yours is waaayyy off. You need some meds ASAP.

  2. Yes I do.  I kept going back and forth to the Dr with various symptoms e.g tiredness, weight gain. She said  everything I said to her sounded like thyroid, but I didn't LOOK like a thyroid!

After 3 months I was sent for a blood test and it came back as slightly under active. I was started on low dose thyroxine and began to feel better.

Definitely Symptoms will present even though you are only just under active.  If you do have to start on medication, you will not have to pay for  anything on prescription again, so it did have  benefits!
