Underage DUI back in March 2008, please help...?

Underage DUI back in March, was arrested, car was impounded, was taken to the police station, did a blood test, and then the police officer let me go.

The only thing he gave me was the paper of the location of where my car was taken to. Usually it takes up to 30 days to get the car back (from what I know) but the next day, they gave it to me.

He didn't give me a ticket that night or anything....

It's now late August and I still haven't received anything in the mail.

Any ideas? Thanks

  1. .   My friend was hurt in her rollover DUI crash.  She was taken to the hospital for her broken arm.  It happened so fast that the policeman didn't talk to her.  He was too busy to go to the hospital.  I think you are going to get lucky.  Are you feeling lucky?

  2. I think you are asking about the charge as opposed to the car?

Call the police department and ask to speak to the arresting officer. Asl about the case. It can take time to get a blood test back. This may be the delay in filling with the DA's Office. After the results of the test are back, and assuming you are being charged, then charges will be filed by the DA. Most states have a penalty for being a minor and having used alcohol while driving. This may cause you to lose your license and pay a fine.

  3. Call a lawyer. Thirty days is a long time to hold you car. Are they charging you by the day while they hold you car? Depends on the State as well.
