Underage Visitor - Crossing American Border?

Hi, I'm 17 and have a Sri Lankan passport but I'm studying in Toronto on a visit visa ('cos the course is under 6 months) and I have a visa to America too. I want to visit a friend there soon, will they let me cross the border to America alone?

I know its not that hard for Canadians to cross...just call the boarder office or somthing

Yes, you should have no problem.   American minors are required to have parental permission...but you are not American, therefore that does not apply to you.  As long as you have a visa to enter the U.S. you should be fine.
