Undergoing surgery was a wise decision for Milwaukee Brewers’ Corey Hart – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers’ outfielder Corey Hart does not have any regrets for undergoing arthroscopic surgery. On Wednesday, March 7, Hart regarded the decision as a wise one as the regular season is a month away from kicking off.
He stated that he will not be able to make it in a month if he kept playing instead of having the surgery. "They said if I would have kept playing, I wouldn't have made it a month," Hart said.
The arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee might well be a complicated one if it faced delay. However, the MRI scan that he had only a few days before the operation clearly showed what awaited if he did not instantly go for the surgery.
There were three tears in his meniscus before the surgery which rendered him vulnerable to leave a significant portion of the season if the surgery was not performed.
"Other people said, 'Well, Rickie [Weeks] played through it, [Craig] Counsell played through it,' but those were all minor tears," Hart said. "Not like mine. Dr. [William] Raasch told me all three of my tears were bigger than Rickie's one."
Now that things seem to have gone well and as envisaged prior to the surgery, the outfielder will formally commence exercise in the coming week. For next few days, the player shall spend in recovering from the surgery.
The team manager Ron Roenicke, on the other hand, thinks it was a good decision as a whole. "He's happy about it," manager Ron Roenicke said. "If he didn't have this now, it looked like he wouldn't have been able to get through the season on it. It's a good
thing they went in."
Milwaukee Brewers are gradually gaining the momentum needed to have a successful training session. The earlier departure of proficient and powerful slugger Prince Fielder, might have come as a shock, nonetheless the team has recovered now.
With Corey Hart almost ready to play next month, there are a lot of things for the Brewers to be confident about as far as their victory is concerned.
