Undergrduation In US ??

Question

Hello friends i wanna do undergraduation in a good school in US unviersities.Do the colleges say MIT, harvard see only the SAT scores or do they look for some other qualities ?? I am in INDIA

For a student from India it will first depend on your ability to pay at most colleges. If you can pay you have about the same chance as American students. If you are seeking financial aid, you must be one of the very top students in your country. SATs is one factor and they will want near perfect scores on the SATI and 2-3 SATIIs. They want you to be at the very top of your class. The look for national level honors. You will also have to have impressive achievements outside of the classroom.

The competition for the few spaces for international applicants from Asia is fierce. The more you can differentiate yourself, the better. Even the very top students find that if they really want a US education, they must apply to colleges ranking much lower than the top ones you mention.

They look at other qualities too like your marks/grades in school and the other activities that you did in school they also look at ACT scores if you took it good luck!

Also, you will most likely have to take the TOEFL exam, unless you graduated from a high school in which all classes (except for foreign language classes!) were conducted in English.

MIT only takes the world's great geniuses.  Most competitive school in the world.  If you are MIT-caliber, chances are they will find you and invite you.

For any highly competitive university, you need top-notch grades -- top 5% of your class, plus top-ranking SAT scores, plus outstanding extracurricular activities showing leadership, innovation, character, maturity, social and communicative skills, and extraordinary talent.

And remember that to get a student visa, you have to prove you have sufficient funds for all of your education expenses, plus your living expenses, plus your transportation home.
