Hi,

I am visiting Montreal, can someone tell me more about what the underground city is? Is it a good idea to hang in there between 7 to 9 pm? When do the shops close on Sat and Sunday nights?

Thank you

  1. Minlo was right, may I ad DO NOT GO WITHOUT A MAP, you can get them in most metro stations GET A MAP!!!!!! Ive been here my whole life and still get lost, you can get really lost down there and go in circles for hours

  2. The Underground city is a bunch of shopping malls/metro stations/buildings in the downtown area that are connected underground (mostly so that in the winter you dont have to go outside as much, since it gets d**n cold here!). It's fun to walk through a bunch of the malls (Place Montreal Trust/Eaton Centre/Les Ailes de la Mode) if you are a shopper. Most of those malls are open until 9 on weekdays, but only 5 on weekends. The place to be on weekends (providing it's nice out) is definitely outside on a terrasse. You should check out Crescent street, or Prince Arthur, and then enjoy our nightlife!
