Ok, so I want to become a doctor, and lately I have been a bit obsessive about it. So with a science degree, what happens? The med. school part I understand, put not the undergraduate degree. I mean, can you take english course in a science degree, cause some med. school profiles say that you need english and social science along with the science courses. And when do you choose your courses? When you get there or when you apply or after you are accepted? Please help, be detailed. Help. Thanks

  1. You choose your courses every semester before you start undergraduate. You go to advising to get a recommended schedule for your major. Science degrees require non science courses, so normally you have a bit of freedom. All you need to qualify for med school is a MCAT score and credit in the following classes (C's or better, A's are best)

    2 Gen Chem Classes

    2 Gen BIo Classes

    2 Organic Chem Classes

    2 Gen Physics classes

All with labs. You also need

    2 English Classes

    2Calculus Classes

    1 Statistics class.

It is recommended that you have:

    1 Biochemistry Class

An interesting Minor or some Humanities courses.
