Hi, i seriously feel if ive been cheated somtimes.

Heres what happens, so im 16yrs old and im quite competitive when it comes to exams etc I try topping in classes and recently ive been doing quite good as Ive been studying extremely hard as in nearly 4-5hours a day.... Now the marks im getting are good, but there are people in my class who dont even study that much and have a much larger understanding than me in most sciences and mathematics yet they hardly ever study.

What am I doing wrong? Seriously its ridiculous how bad it feels when you put your all your life into something and there are people who dont do as much as you and do the same/better

How can i improve my studying? Dont say draw models diagrams im not a visual learner. And how can I allow my brain to understand more?

  1. Realize that there will always be someone who is taller shorter fatter thinner, handsomer uglier, smarter dumber, etc.

    Here are some study hints.

    1. Have all of your materials ready and in the place that you are going to study.

    3. Study when its quiet. No music, no TV, No headphones, no nothing.

    4. Do your most difficult subject fist or else you may never get to it.

    5. Keep a calendar so that you know when a project is due or a test is going to be given.

    6. Vocabulary is very important. Words have different meanings. You need to know the meaning for the subject that you are taking.

    7. Study the relationship of things. How is the topic that you studied related to the unit that you are studying?

    8. Your textbook has hints for you. Many books have important words or phrases in darkened or colored type, make sure that you know them thoroughly.

The sites below are excellent and will give you many other ideas about studying.

  2. Find yourself an organized study method, such as SQ3R (there are others) and follow it faithfully.

Take good notes in class and review those daily.  Rewrite them if you need to.  Make yourself some flash cards if you need to do that, instead of rewriting notes in a notebook.

If you're not good at taking clear notes, find a method that works for you, such as an outline form.

See if you can find the video study course "Where There's a Will, There's an A".  Maybe the library?  This course tells how to take notes and study efficiently.  If the library doesn't have that particular one, see if they have something else.
