Is there a small mouthpiece or oxygen breathing apparatus that you can breathe underwater with? Such as a pony bottle but smaller or is something that needs future technology?

  1. There are some very small tanks that have a regulator built onto them.  One manufacturer calls them "Spare Air".  At depth (like 100 feet), the smaller bottles only provide a few breaths of air.  They are marketed as a last ditch device to help a diver reach the surface.

A pony bottle is just a smaller scuba tank.  There is nothing special about it other than it is smaller and independent from your main tank(s).

  2. Yes, I don't remember what it is called, but I tried to buy one with my birthday money to swim around my pool with but, you have to be a certified diver to buy one. They allow you to breathe for 10 minutes underwater, it is an emergency apparatus if your scuba tank doesn't work or becomes punctured.
