  1. So?  What's your question?

  2. Most good underwater cameras are over $1,000

  3. Well, Have you used and underwater camera before?

In the sears catolouge, in 25$ or under... or  maybe 20$ and under... but it is digital, and holds p to 300 bucks... i think its disposable. Try one of those first.

And I would spend no more than 200$ on a REAL one.

Also, you can buy an "underwater camera" case to put on your digital camera. I have one of those.

    Good luck!

  4. I was looking at cameras the other day and found this one that you might be pleased with. It will take an underwater photo up to 33 feet down.

  5. You can visit most local dive shops. They'll have a photography section. Many will have Sea&Sea or Bonica cameras in stock that will fit the bill. Sea&Sea have a few models that they have just discontinued that you can pick up for a reasonable price.

Here's a link to a complete Bonica Snapper with carry case for 400 bucks. http://www.bonicadive.com/?p2=modules/bo...

There are also a number of lesser known models out there like this one, for example http://travelsportsequipment.com/catalog...

    that fit your price range.

Canon also makes a number of cameras with their own underwater housing ( extra) that the combined price also comes in under your budget.

Contrary to what someone else has said...you don't need to spend a grand to go digital underwater. Heck, I spent less than 600 for an Ike Lite housing ( top of the line housing rated to 200 feet) and my Canon 8MP A720IS combined.

These cameras and housings that I've mentioned , are all rated to at least 150 feet. Not like most  "WalMart" type models that are only good to 45 feet or so or the even cheaper "day at the beach" type rigs that typically are only good to 16 feet and also are only in the 4-5 MP range. You don't really mention which you want so I'm assuming that if you want 8 MP, you want a better rig for doing macro reef photography.

If, on the other hand, you want a rig that easily falls in your price range but is in the 5 MP category, there's always this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...

from WalMart. I personally wouldn't be using it for scuba diving, but for a day at the beach or for snorkeling, it would survive and for 55 bucks and if you accidentally strayed to 60 feet, cheap to replace.
