Are there any tribes, peoples or cultures left in the world that have not come in contact with 'the modern world'? Am i wrong to conclude there are still peoples on pacific islands or deep in the Amazon yet to come face to face with contemporary society?

  1. There is a least one I know of.  An Indoneasian island where the stoneage populace is aware of modern society but desires no contact with us.

  2. I've lived in my community for decades and still have neighbours, within 15 houses east and west, with whom I've never exchanged a word.

Yes I believe there could be civilizations unknown to modern man. We know of their homeland, but not of its inhabitants.

  3. I bet there are. The world is a vast land that many places are left uncharted. I wonder the same thing all the time. There are many undeveloped villages out there that have nothing. They have been the same way for thousands of years. surely there are some that are undiscovered.

  4. The problem is, if indeed there are, and we don't know about them, then we can't know what we don't know!
