Undisputed WWE Champion, Alberto Del Rio reigns supreme in the Power 25 – WWE Rankings
The Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science has restructured the rankings for the weekend of August 20. The Undisputed WWE Champion, Alberto Del Rio clutched first place in the Power 25 list of WWE.
The Mexican Aristocrat had an undefeated streak in the last weekend’s segments. The Champion participated in the three events including WWE’s pay-per-view event, SummerSlam, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. The Mexican Aristocrat demonstrated
amazing performance during SummerSlam on August 14. Although, Del Rio lost the six-man Tag Team match from the team of Rey Mysterio, John Morrison and Kofi Kingston but the Undisputed Championship victory was more excellent than that loss.
CM Punk and John Cena were set in the WWE Champion vs. WWE Champion match that was captured by Punk. But the Second City Saviour was not lucky that day as he was attacked by Kevin Nash.
The Mexican Aristocrat took the opportunity and cashed his Money in the Briefcase on the spot by winning the Undisputed WWE Championship against newly minted WWE Champion, Punk. One day after, SummerSlam, the Undisputed Champion was put into the title fight
against the Ultimate Underdog, Rey Mysterio during Monday Night Raw on August 15. The Champion not only successfully defended his Undisputed WWE title but also brutally injured the arm of Mysterio by putting him into his worst signature move “Cross Armbreaker”.
Furthermore, the Champion also appeared in the Friday Night SmackDown as the guest on August 19 as he started his career from Friday Night SmackDown beating the Ultimate Underdog and injuring his arm. In SmackDown segment, Del Rio was interrupted by Mr.
SmackDown Money in the Bank, Daniel Bryan. It caused a match between Daniel and the Undisputed WWE Champion. Del Rio continued to keep up his winning streak after the championship victory in the SmackDown as well as he defeated Mr. Money in the Bank after
putting him into a Cross Armbreaker submission.
Due to the Undisputed Champion’s undefeated victories, WWE placed him on the top place of the Power 25 list for this week. Last week, he was at seventh place and he jumped to first, it was an amazing week for Del Rio.
