  1. That's why you should switch the sharing off on your P2P client and the seeding off on your torrent client. They only go for people who allow it to be uploaded so other people can download it off them. Similar to drugs where they mainly go for the dealers rather than the users.

  2. Thats sad, I help if I had that kinda cash.

  3. how will she pay the fine? with cash i guess.

  4. I wish people would get this right, she was only fined £4,000 odd. The rest was court costs because she lost.

Who will pay, you will the tax payer! She had the oppotunity to pay £300 compensation but ignored it so she brought it on her own head, no one else through her own stupidity. She thought she would get away with it but came unstuck!

She is just the first of many lined up, here and State side.

She gets no sympathy vote from me, nor will the rest when they get done

  5. She was warned but ignored it.

  6. I just had a right good rant at those corporate pigs on the message board.

  7. Now if she had been fined £16,000 for tax evasion, or benefit fraud, would  you feel the same??  She committed a crime - simple - don't do the crime unless you can do the time (or in her case, pay for it).

This should be a warning to many people - illegal downloading IS being monitored and people ARE being caught and fined.

  8. will see her on street corners i guess

  9. It's a pity she didn't settle out of court and pay £300. The fine does seem very high indeed - I don't know what kind of fine you'd get for nicking a DVD in a shop, but it should be comparable.

The court will ask for proof of income and she'll pay what she can afford to on a monthly basis - that's how it works.

It sends a strong message, doesn't it.
