I about about to get laid off from my job in CA in about 2 weeks. I want to collect unemployment, but my employer is going out of business and I am working part-time. Can I still receive unemployment even though I am part-time? What's the deal if my job is going out of business?

  1. His going out of business makes it easier for you to collect.   Hard to dispute your unemployment is not your fault.

  2. Unemployment benefits are based on your average reported earnings.  Your employer going out of business has no effect on this.
