Unemployment question please help

my company had a 3 weeks shutdown wich i collected unemployment so i have an open claim then i worked 2 more week now i got fired from my job.. can i still collect unemployment if i had a recently open claim even thou i got fired from my job???

  1. You have an open claim a.k.a. an open book, and do not have to go through the entire jargon of opening a new claim.  Termination without cause a.k.a. constructive discharge you are still eligible to receive benefits unless you were terminated with cause and they may contest the benefit although most organizations do not bother unless they have it in for the employee (I've seen such cases.)  It appears you were a constructive discharge.  You can reapply with no problem.  


  2. Yes, this should expedite your current claim. But, you did report the two weeks of income to unemployment, right? Because otherwise you are committing fraud.
