In a recent question I posted regarding the media coverage of the Presidential campaign, 10 out of 11 respondents felt the media's coverage is extremely unbalanced. They feel that the media is favoring Obama, and is making a concerted effort to push him to the forefront in order to sway voters. I am wondering how the rest of you feel. Do YOU think the media is unfair to McCain? (I do )

  1. The media is unfair across the board. If you are on the outside looking in from a minority's perspective, then it's always unfair and unbalanced.  Not just a black and white issue but minorities as a whole. McCain will basically continue to carry out Bush's ideology and processes as far as the government goes, so if you're happy with how this country is being run then McCain is your guy.  However, Obama isn't really inheriting anything great. Based on what he's saying he has a lot of work to do, and I don't think it's going to be a walk in the park. He'll have a heck of a time cleaning up the mess left behind.

  2. If one defines (news) "media" as a legitimate source of factual, unbiased, information, what you describe in not "media," it's propaganda by a wing of the political party it represents.  In this case, the DNC.

  3. it's the media, they aren't supposed to be fair.

  4. It to the point of embarrassment to most Americans. But I really think this will come back to bite the big time media , after this elections is over I look for some to close down their shop.  From what I hear they are all having rating problems now. with out ratings no sponsors.  The good people of America getting tired of the c**p pushed down their throats daily.  I am already back to local news and some fox. for the election coverage. they at least give both candidates coverage.

  5. Although I don't like either Man, it is true that the Far Left Media is less than even handed when it comes to Sen. McCain. Every News Story is slanted to put him in the worse possible light, and Sen. Obama in the best possible light. The mainstream News Media is anything but "Fair and Balanced", that's why I only watch Fox News Channel !

  6. Absolutely unfair.  The network news already feel as though he is President and set that particular tone when doing any type of reporting on him.  It is very shameful.

  7. The media seems to be interfering with the american political process. Almost like campaign fixing.

  8. I don't think that the media has ever claimed to be fair and balanced. Each network will report on stories that they think will sell. Period.

Right now Obama just happens to be a media darling. Who cares? There is almost always a "media favorite" during Presidential campaigns.

I don't understand why people are whining about this. I clearly remember in the '96 campaign (I was in HS and couldn't even vote at the time) that Bill Clinton was everywhere. He was on magazine covers, he was playing his saxophone on talk shows, he was traveling, he was on the news, etc. I only saw Bob Dole falling off speech platforms or shaking his pen at people. No one was complaining about that.

If Obama was white and his name was Mark Smith, would there still be such a stink?

    I think not.
