Unfair way to get 492 pokemon in pokedex?

Ok, is this an unfair way to fill up my pokedex, my friend got all the pokemon from where they came from, cept for arceus cause he hasnt come out yet, then i traded him a magikarp, and he traded me bulbasaur, then i traded him bulbasaur for ivysaur (Yes, he has all 3, he is that much of a completeist) and we kept doing that for like 6 hours, finally, he trades me shaymin for darkrai, then i trade him shaymin for magikarp, is that an unfair way to fill up my pokedex, all we need now is arceus and both of us have a complete pokedex, is this an unfair way to fill it?

No its not unfair if you cant attend events, if you didnt do that you would of probably never obtained those data.

For me i have a R4 so i can fill ever pokemon in my pokedex  so thats unfair
