Hi,

let's say a prisoner is found not guilty after spending 23 years in prison. If he then never gets compensated for that would he be entitled to commit a crime as a reward?

If he would kill someone out of anger, what would happen to him? Wouldn't he be entitled to do that after being wrongfully convicted for so many years?

  1. No, get serious !

  2. I think the word you were looking for was innocent not unguilty, and no you are tried individually for each crime, so the fact that you were wrongly convicted in the past would have no bearing.

However you can not be tried in an American Court for the same crime twice using the same set of facts, it is known as the Double Jeopardy Law, and was recently repealed in England and Wales.

  3. Two wrongs don't make a right, and regardless of the past you don't get a free crime.

Why would you allow someone who was wrongly convicted kill someone?

Even if the person they killed was some how responsible for their imprisonment that is not justified.

If they killed an innocent person where is the justice for that person?

  4. Only if we had an "Eye for an Eye" legal system - but in that case, the family of the person he killed would have killed the prisoner in retribution (instead of imprisoning him)...

But since that is NOT the way things work - I think it's time for you to put the Crack Pipe down, and go outside to get some fresh air ;);););)

  5. I can understand why someone would be upset after spending so long in prison ... especially since he/she was not guilty of the crime.

I know it's easier to say than do, but that person should be thankful they are out of prison. He/she shouldn't do something that might land them right back in the pen again.  True, it is not fair that person was put in there to begin with.  Look forward to tomorrow.  See the sunshine outside.  Take a deep breath of fresh air!  This person is free now.  He should find something he likes to do (sports, writing, helping people in some way) , get a job, set goals.

I wish this person all the luck in the world.

  6. Of course not, don't be ridiculous.
