Asked in the aftermath of a 1-0 win over AS Saint-Etienne, Paris Saint-Germain coach Antoine Kombouare acknowledged that the playmaker was not happy in his new environment and added that the Argentine international should be given some time.
Once again, Argentine international Javier Pastore had the air of a man who had no idea where he was while Paris Saint-Germain defeated AS Saint-Etienne 1-0 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The win now takes PSG to the summit of the Ligue 1 Championnat. However,
coach Antoine Kombouare might have his work cut-out during the Christmas holidays as he needs to return http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 to his best before the second half of the campaign kicks off.
“Pastore started well and returned to his best in sequences. Smiling and playing well upon his arrival, the Argeninte is now getting bored on the ground,” were Antoine Kombouare’s words when journalists asked the Kanak coach about Pastore’s form.
El Flaco certainly shows flashes of sheer genius but those flashes are all too rare to be seen. His behaviour and body language reminiscent to a lost soul certainly generates a lot of questions. If this trend continues, people will certainly ask Pastore
about his commitment to the club that signed him for such a hefty fee in the summer transfer window from Palermo.
For the first time since his arrival, Antoine Kombouare openly criticised his playmaker who was substituted in the 83rd minute.
While talking to Orange Sport, the Kanak said that he has to listen to a lot about Pastore.
“I’m not talking about the footballer, because a footballer comes after man,” Kombouare said accurately about first talking of Pastore as a man before as a player.
“I know he is not very happy. We will work to make him happy. And if he is happy, he will once again become the player who we knew earlier this season.”
However, Kombouare also defended Pastore by saying that the Argentine arrived at the club without any preparation and suddenly regressed. Kombouare said that he does not question the quality of Pastore.
However, with Christmas just around the corner, Javier Pastore will take a break from football to spend some time with his family and friends and might return to his best.
It still remains to be seen whether a break would do the Argentine any good or not. Pastore’s form for the Ile club is very important at the moment as the youngster could prove to be the difference for PSG who are desperate to win the Championelle this season.
