Unhatched cockatiel egg?

Question

my sister accidently barely smashed a cockatiel egg. there is a little dent in the egg. it is not broken but there is a side thats a litttle smashed. we dont know if its dying.but we heard peeping. should we open it or leave it alone?

this is tricky ..i think you should leave it for 10 min and see if its trying to get out if it is then open it a little
