Question:

Uni Loans Problem!?

Can anyone help? I am applying to Uni, and to get my loans I need to send a P60 for proof of my fathers income. When his work wouldn't give him the P60, I downloaded a form for him to complete but he won't even do that. I have to send proof of his income, or I won't be entitled to loans, and I won't be able to go to University. I have rung the help line - they say the same. The deadline to send the forms is two weeks away. What should I do?

  1. If you can't get your dad to supply his earnings, then you can't get the full loan. You will still be entitled to 75% of the maintenance loan and the loan to cover your tuition fees, but anything like grants that are means-tested won't be avaliable to you.

There would be no way to tell you apart (who may very well need a full loan to get by at uni) from someone who's parents both earn 50k a year and just want to get extra help they aren't entitled too if both of you don't send proof of income in.

If you want any of the means tested help you need to get him to supply his earnings to the SLC. There's no other way about it.

  2. fast way to have a loan Salliemae.com, I was in the same boat I thought that i would not go to college this past year so I apply to this website, school recommend it to me and they tell you in seconds if you are able to recieve a loan. is private though, hope it helps.
