Uni of Sydney vs. Uni of Melb. (Pls advice me!)

Question

Hi everyone, i would require a bit of help here as I have been offered 2 places in Uni of Melbourne and Uni of Sydney respectively into their music school majoring in piano. As I would want to do a teaching profession in e future, pls advice me on which uni would you think it's better and e reason for it being so. Which uni among these 2 would be a better choice for music studies (teaching profession)? Thanks so much for e help:)

University of Melbourne has a higher placing than University of Sydney in almost any international University ranking.

This is especially a bonus if you are a Melbournian, since you won't have to move interstate.

Uni of Melbourne is a much more prestigious university than Uni of Sydney.  It has a higher international standing, and your degree will be more highly looked upon than one from Uni of Syd.  The only downfall may be that Uni of Melbourne fees are a bit higher...but then again you get what you pay for.

Depends if you want to be a performer or a teacher. If you want to be a performer, your best bet is either the Sydney Conservatorium or the VCA (Victoria College of Arts) which is associated with Melbourne Uni, but which is different from the Melbourne University Music Dept. (Conservatorium). If you are only wanting to do teaching, Melbourne Uni is an easier University to live with, but Sydney is probably pretty good too.

Well, Uni of Melb hands down in terms of music studies as it is linked with the victoria college of arts as well, and it is more reputable than Syd U. though fees are higher.
