  1. It depends on your universities rules, most don't allow it. Call the office there and ask.

  2. course you can my sister took a hamster

  3. not if you are in halls, no. they inspect your room too so you can't even hide it. i really wanted a hamster when i lived in halls and i went to ask and they wouldn't let me. i waited til i moved into a flat x x

  4. No.  99% of university accomdation will not allow any form of pet.  However...officially most dont allow alcohol, fridges and kettles but that doesnt stop most people.

  5. I am a student myself, and really disagree with students keeping pets.

I have worked in a Pet Store, and I know work for the RSPCA. The number of hamsters/rabbits/rats/gerbils/etc that come in due to students lacking interest, dumped, neglected, or are simply killed due to lack of sufficient knowledge is so high.

Most student accommodations will not allow pets, but people still do buy pets and keep them. This will often lead to the animals being taken off you if you are caught, or the responsibility of you trying to re-home them.

Please consider getting a pet when you have finished your studies. But if you really do feel that you want a pet, please just consider a hamster as they are easier to care for than a rat, they can be kept solitary (Syrians) and do not require so much attention and space as a rat.

    Hope this helps.

  6. at edgehill you can.
